Elijah Burke appearing in January

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

Former WWE Superstar Elijah Burke will be appearing at the CWF Warehouse in Rockwall, Texas on Jan. 24th, 2009!

Burke is a former officer for the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office in Florida who would become an amateur boxer in Jacksonville’s Club 5 and Club Plush where he claims to have had a 98-1 win/loss record. According to his WWE.com profile, Burke has a record of 103-1 with 102 knockouts in his amateur career. According to WWE, the only loss he sustained was a disqualification, after he knocked his opponent out and refused to back down to his corner. Before each of his matches he writes the phrase “4-Up” on his wrist tape, and in an interview with WWE Magazine, Burke stated that this came from the phrase “I’m going to give you five upside your head,” used by comedians such as Redd Foxx.

2008 Year End News

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

Dear Friends,

“So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went to the top of the hills. As long as Moses help up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it.Aaron and Hur held his hands up- one on one side, one on the other- so that his hands remained steady till sunset. So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword.”
Exodus 17:10-13

During this holiday season, we are so appreciative of the number of churches, individuals, corporations and organizations who give their time and resources to assist us in serving the Rockwall community, surrounding states and foreign countries. The challenges are great and the battle is fierce but we remain encouraged knowing that just as Joshua did not have to face the Amalekites by himself, that we have a number of friends and partners who are holding up our hands and interceding for us each day!

Because of God’s help and your support many milestones were accomplished this year and we want to share them with you.

  • Over 2000 people accepted Christ at our events in 2008.
  • Successful mission trip to Mexico
  • Expanded our CWF warehouse in Rockwall to 5,000 square feet and added a new weight room.
  • Built a loyal following to our monthly events at our Warehouse in Rockwall.
  • Added heat and air conditioning to our CWF warehouse.
  • Added new signs to the outside of our CWF warehouse.
  • Performed free events for several Boys and Girls clubs in the metroplex.
  • Had our first kid’s camp in May and 20 kid’s ages 8-12 attended.
  • Published the first CWF comic book.
  • I baptized 6 kid’s this year !

Again, we are Thankful for each of the Aaron and Hurs who stand right alongside of us by providing support to make this ministry possible. Although much has been accomplished, there remains so much more that needs to be done and we continue to look to our many friends to assist us in these efforts of making a difference in the community and around the world.

We are also Thankful that our partners who have committed to assist CWF in our work and have remained faithful in spite of the economic downturn. Please be in prayer about supporting CWF in 2009!

Looking forward to 2009!!

  • Our next CWF event at the Rockwall warehouse is on January 24 @ 7pm.
  • Anissa delivered ROCK RYAN VAUGHN on November 4 at 6:01pm. He was 7lbs and 7oz, and was 20 in long!!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!!!
  • Our last warehouse show of 2008 was on October 25. We had 303 people attend, our largest crowd there!!!!!! 18 people made decisions for Christ that night!!!!
  • We have 2 TV cameras and we are going to start filming a 30 minute CWF TV show to shop around in 2009. If you have any leads or know someone in TV please let me know.
  • In the past, people who have lots of airline miles, have let us use some of them to fly a big name wrestler in for a show. I n January, we are flying in a recently released WWE wrestler. He is a Christian who is going to wrestle and share his testimony at our show in January. If you have a ticket or airline miles you would like to donate, please let me know.
  • We are looking at going to Egypt in 2009 with Lake Pointe. We are still in prayer about where the Lord is leading us to go in 2009. Please pray with us!!!!
  • If you know someone who wants to be involved in ministry, possibly with CWF, let me know. They don’t have to wrestle, they can manage, announce, do sound, set up, etc…
  • If you are wanting to start the new year off right with some personal training, call me and we can set something up for you at our CWF training center. $25 per session.
  • Please keep Graeme {Rip McAllister} our Scottish wrestler, in prayer. He was denied entry into our country on November 13. His green card had not been finalized. He was detained for 25 hours and interrogated by customs agents while in handcuffs and leg irons then sent back to Scotland. Please pray for a quick resolution to this.

CWF NEEDS

  • We still need more folding chairs, a better sound system, warehouse heater, and a wheel barrow. If you have leads on any of these, please call me at 214 460-0477.
  • Please have a wonderful Christmas Season and keep Christ the center of it all!!!!

God Bless,
Rob Vaughn
